The Correlation between Environment Factors and Sociodemography Factors with Diarrhea Happen at Children Under Five Years Old
The
diarrhea disease is one of health problem in Indonesian, this problem is caused
the level of this sickness still high to cause death especially at the children
under five years old. Case of diarrhea at the children under five years old in
Blimbing village in 2008 was 20,1%, from amounts 347 balita. The worse of
environment factors can make a children under five years old has diarrhea.
The aim
of this research was to know the relationship between the environment factors
and sociodemography factors with diarrhea case at children under five years old
in Blimbing, Sambirejo, Sragen.
The
method of this research was observation with cross sectional approach. The
sample of this research were 70 mothers who have children under five years old
to suffer diarrhea. The technique of sampling was exhaustive sampling.
Statistic analyzed used chi square test.
The
result of this research showed there was not relationship between
sociodemograpy factors such as the education level of mother (p = 0,080), kind
of job (p = 0,623) and age of mother (p = 0,114). There was a relationship
between environment factors such as the water resources (p = 0,001), the kind
of latrine (p = 0,001), the kind of floor (p = 0,001) with case of diarrhea at
children under five years old. with case of diarrhea at children under five
years old in Blimbing, Sambirejo, Sragen.
Based on
the result is suggested to health official to give a counseling to public,
about using of sourcing of covert water, using of floor waterproof, using
latrine correctly, and keep cleaning of latrine.
